WELCOME:
What is this site?
This is my attempt at providing one central place where people can find high school state champions for every year since 1970.
Why 1970?
The information prior to that is either hard to find or not accurate.
How did the information get compiled?
The data was found utilizing state athletic association websites, newspaper archives and independent historical websites.
What sports are listed?
I selected eight of the most popular team sports, four girls and four boys.
They are: softball (fast-pitch only), baseball, girls and boys basketball, girls and boys soccer, volleyball and football. (Other sports may be added in the future.)
Things to know when viewing the state champions:
- School mascots are listed with what is considered the overall or "boys" mascot (It was too difficult to find separate boys/girls mascots)
- School champions are listed in what I believe are the school colors (May be off a little)
- School names are listed by the current name if the name has changed I'm open to feedback.
- School names of people for example John Adams are listed with only the last name to save space.
- If you see a school listed with (Co) next to it, this is a cooperative team that is made up of multiple schools. The colors are black and white since I didn't want to diffierentiate between one school or the other.
- Black cells represent that no champion was crowned that year or that the state didn't play that classification of that sport that season. (You will see this a lot during 2020/2021 thanks to COVID)
Hope you enjoy!
